How It Works

Masslytics helps you measure the impact of your television and radio advertising campaigns on website traffic. Below you will find an overview of how it works, with links to more detailed guides for each step.

Step 1: Install the Masslytics tag

The first step is to install the Masslytics tracking tag on your website.
This tag collects visitor data in a way that is GDPR-compliant and does not use cookies.

You can generate your unique tag directly from the Masslytics interface and install it by either:

  • Adding the tag code directly to your website’s source code
  • Using Google Tag Manager to implement it

Once installed, Masslytics immediately starts collecting visit data.

Step 2: Exchange your ad schedules

To analyze the impact of your campaigns, Masslytics also needs your ad schedule data. This tells the software exactly when your ads aired, allowing it to match website visits with broadcast moments.

You can exchange your ad schedules in two ways:

  • Manually: by uploading a CSV or Excel export from your broadcaster
  • Automatically: via our API (depending on your subscription)

Step 3: Analyze the results

Masslytics compares visitor data with your ad schedules and benchmarks to determine which visits are likely driven by your campaigns. The software attributes visitors conservatively, ensuring that only statistically significant impacts are counted.

In the Masslytics dashboard you can view:

  • Hourly and daily visitor impact
  • Historical (retrospective) campaign results
  • Data export options for reporting and ROI calculation
