Users, Roles and Rights

Below you will find an explanation of how roles, rights and user management work within Masslytics.
Masslytics supports multiple organization types with a clear hierarchy to manage access and responsibilities.

Organization hierarchy

In Masslytics, there are three main organization types. Each has its own level of access and responsibilities, and can manage users, brands and advertisers according to their role in the hierarchy.

Advertisers

Advertisers are the organizations that actually run campaigns with measurable brands.
For example: PepsiCo would be the advertiser, and Pepsi would be the brand.

  • Advertisers own the brands that appear in advertisements.
  • Users within an advertiser account can only see and manage the brands under that advertiser.
  • Advertisers cannot see brands or advertisers outside their own account.

Agencies

Some broadcasters work with agencies (or sales houses) that resell inventory on their behalf.
For example: GroupM could be the Agency of PepsiCo.

Agencies sit above advertisers in the hierarchy and can manage their own set of advertisers.

  • Agencies can create and manage advertisers under their account.
  • Agencies can also create users with appropriate rights, either for the agency itself or for the advertisers they manage.
  • Advertisers under an agency still retain visibility only of their own brands.

Networks

Networks are publishers that hold a direct contract with Masslytics, selling their marketing inventory to agencies and advertisers. For example: NRJ could be the network, granting access to GroupM for their agency clients like PepsiCo and to direct advertisers.

They typically own the publishing channels themselves or have licenses to sell advertising for a specific group of media channels.

  • Networks are at the top of the hierarchy.
  • Networks can manage both agencies and direct advertisers under their umbrella.
  • Networks can create and manage users for themselves, their agencies, and their advertisers.
  • Networks act as administrators within their operational sphere and have visibility over all subordinate entities.

Managing users

  • You can create an unlimited number of users in Masslytics at no additional cost. In order to do this, go to the Advertiser/Agency/Network you'd like to add an user to, click on the eye icon and click the edit icon under users. Now click "Add User" to add a new user or modify/delete existing ones.
  • When you create a user, they will immediately receive an invitation email at the specified email address. If you'd like to trigger this invitation an extra time, delete the user and re-add it.
  • The user is required to validate their email address and set their own password to complete their account setup.

User management is available from within the application, and each organization type is responsible for managing its own and its subordinate users.
